The web 2.0 tool I chose is: http://www.toondoo.com.
I thought this program seemed very fun and engaging. It would definitely be a good creative project to provide to special education students, or middle/elementary school kids. While simplistic in nature and free, the program seemed to be diverse and complex, allowing the user to create an infinite number of situations for the different characters and using the different settings. A teacher could use this tool to make certain concepts more clear, or simply to just create a fun alternative to lecturing on a topic; this way the teacher may use the toondoo comics to introduce a new topic and allow the students to engage on their own. I think these scenarios show many different ways in which this tool could be used effectively in the classroom.

What is ToonDoo?

ToonDoo is a fun, comic-creating tool that is very kid friendly. There are a number of functions that allow you to create, personalize, and publish your own cartoons.

Is ToonDoo An Effective Tool For Diverse Learners?

Absolutely! Students with learning disabilities and ESL learners would especially be engaged in this creative tool. They will find themselves able to express their ideas and thoughts through illustrations.

Below are the 2 cartoons I created:
